The NY Rising Community Reconstruction Program, created by Governor Cuomo and funded with federal Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funding, will make the Canarsie community stronger, more resilient, and better prepared for future storms. The NYRCR program is a community-driven planning process with the goal of creating a comprehensive resiliency plan for Canarsie. The Canarsie NYRCR Community is eligible for nearly $12 million for resiliency projects, and your continued input helped determine how these funds should be used to protect Canarsie.
